Product Overview
ABB DO801 is a standard 16-channel digital output module in AC 800M distributed control systems. It adopts an NPN transistor Sourcing output structure and is specifically designed to drive 24V DC loads. Such as small relays, solenoid valves, indicator lights, PLC input modules, solid-state relays (SSR), etc.
This module is equipped with short-circuit protection, overload detection and channel-level diagnostic functions. Installation and Usage instructions
Hardware installation
Insert DO801 into the S800 I/O electronic rack (such as TB840A);
Connect to the CI854A or CI801 communication module via the
ModuleBus cable;
Provide a 24V DC load power supply externally and connect it to the
common positive terminal (L+) of the module;
One end of the load is connected to 24V +, and the other end is
connected to the DO801 output terminal. The load circuit is
grounded through the internal transistor of the module.
Software configuration
Create a DO801 device instance in Control Builder M;
Name each channel (such as "Valve_A_Open_CMD");
Configurable output safety status (hold/reset to zero in case of
fault);
Download the configuration to the AC 800M controller.
Debugging and verification
The green LED on the front panel indicates that the module is
operating normally.
If a certain channel is short-circuited, it will automatically
close and report the fault.
Loop testing can be conducted by forcing the output ON/OFF through
Control Builder M.
