Product Overview

The ABB DI803 is an 8-channel AC digital input module in the AC 800M distributed control system, specifically developed for direct access to the 230V AC control loop signal. This module can safely and reliably collect 220-240 V AC field discrete signals from circuit breaker auxiliary contacts, contactor status, motor protection relay alarms, lighting control switches, etc., without the need for additional intermediate relays or signal isolators, significantly simplifying the system architecture and enhancing reliability.

The DI803 features a channel isolation level of up to 2500V AC, an integrated anti-interference filter circuit, and wide voltage adaptability. It is suitable for industrial sites with large grid fluctuations and complex electromagnetic environments, and is an ideal I/O solution for power substations, water plant pumping stations, large HVAC systems, and old factory renovation projects.

Effectively prevent high voltage from intruding into the control system to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment

Installation and Usage instructions
Hardware installation
Insert DI803 into the S800 I/O electronic rack (such as TB840A);
Connect to the CI854A (optical fiber) or CI801 (electrical) communication module via the ModuleBus cable;
For dry contact input, an external 230 V AC query power supply (typically from a control transformer or UPS) is required.
Software configuration
Create DI803 device instances in Control Builder M;
Assign a label to each channel (such as "Lighting_Zone3_ON_FB");
Optional configuration of input filtering time (default 10 ms) to suppress mechanical contact jitter;
Download the configuration to the AC 800M controller.
Debugging and verification
A constantly lit green LED on the front panel indicates that the module is operating normally.
View the status of each channel in real time through the System 800xA screen.
Support online forced input of values (only for engineering debugging mode).
