AX18-30-10-84 ABB Ac contactor Compact and reliable DC control Optimized medium small sized loads
Product Overview
ABB AX18-30-10-84 is a standard three-pole AC contactor in the ABB AX series, suitable for controlling three-phase AC motors and other AC-3 or AC-1 class loads. This model has no built-in auxiliary contacts. The rated voltage of the control coil is AC 24V (24V AC), and it is suitable for industrial and building automation systems that require isolation of low-voltage control circuits.
Electrical performance parameters
This contactor has a rated insulation voltage of 690 V AC and is suitable for three-phase AC systems with a maximum voltage of 690 V. Under the AC-3 usage category (cage motor start-stop), the rated working current is 18 A at 400 V. Under the AC-1 usage category (non-inductive or micro-inductive loads, such as resistance heaters and lighting), it can carry 25 A at the same voltage. The working voltage of the control coil is AC 24V, and the allowable fluctuation range is usually ±15%. The coil engagement power is approximately 5 VA, and the holding power is less than 2 VA. The electrical life is no less than 1 million operations under the rated AC-3 condition, and the mechanical life exceeds 15 million operations.
Typical applications
It is suitable for driving squirrel-cage asynchronous motors with a power not exceeding 7.5kW (400V three-phase), and is commonly found in small fans, water pumps, compressors, conveyor belts, packaging equipment, etc. It can also be used to control three-phase heaters, large lighting circuits or actuator units in HVAC systems. Due to the adoption of AC 24V coils, it is particularly suitable for traditional relay control systems powered by control transformers or certain safety circuit architectures.
Installation and Usage instructions
The main circuit terminals support single or multi-strand wires ranging from 1.5mm ² to 4mm ². It is recommended to use cold-pressed terminals with insulating sleeves to ensure connection reliability. The terminals of the control coil are marked as A1 and A2. When connected to an AC 24V power supply, there is no need to distinguish polarity. To achieve overload protection, it is recommended to be combined with ABB TA series thermal overload relays to form a complete direct online starter (DOL starter).
