Product Overview

ABB RMIO-02C is a programmable I/O expansion module specifically designed for the Relion® 615 and 620 series multi-functional protection relays (such as REF615, REM615, RET615, REU615, etc.). By connecting to the local I/O bus of the main relay, RMIO-02C can significantly expand the digital input (DI) and digital output (DO) capabilities of the device, meeting the advanced application requirements such as complex interlocking, status feedback, and remote control.

Installation and Usage instructions
Mechanical installation
Install RMIO-02C on the DIN rail on the right side of the main relay (it is recommended that the spacing be ≤ 10 cm).
Use the included fixed clips to prevent loosening.
Electrical connection
Connect the I/O EXT interface on the back of the main relay to the IN interface of RMIO-02C with a dedicated flat cable;
The on-site signal line is connected to the module terminals (DI: terminals 1-16; DO: terminals 17-28).
Software configuration
Open the main relay project in the PCM600 engineering tool;
Automatically identify RMIO-02C and allocate DI/DO functions (such as "Remote Signaling 1", "Trip Exit 2");
Support custom logical equations (such as DI1 AND DI2 → DO1).
Debugging and verification
Observe the input trigger and output action through the LED.
Confirm that the signal upload is correct in the HMI or background system.
